Our Journey

Who We Are

Newton Gentry IV, Executive Director:

Born and raised in Annapolis, Md. Attending St. Martins Lutheran Middle School, Mount St. Joseph High School and University of Virginia where he played on the 2003 Division 1 Lacrosse National Championship Team. Being in long term recovery. He wanted to create a funding source for people that wanted the opportunity to start their journey in recovery but were not able to afford the cost associated. Co-Founder of Drug free all-stars prevention program.

Samuel Alston, Vice President:

 

Born and raised in Prince George's County, a certified Adventure Therapist at Pathways. He has provided countless members of the recovery community with mentorship, resources, advocacy, and empowerment for change in the process of Recovery. In long term recovery and Co Founder of Recovery Awareness Foundation Incorporated. Co-Founder of Drug free all-stars prevention program.

Mission

The Recovery Awareness Foundation Incorporated's goal is to provide a sense of belonging, self-worth, compassion and perseverance. Discovery of the true meaning of family, forgiveness and fortitude to move forward. We provide comfort in knowing who you are and that you are never alone on your journey in recovery.
